Haile Gebrselassie won the real-Berlin Marathon for
the fourth year in succession on Sunday morning in an unofficial time
of two hours six minutes eight seconds. The Ethiopian made a brave
attempt to break the world record of 2hrs 3mins 59secs he set in last
year's race and paid the penalty for his ferocious efforts in the
early stages.
