CYCLING
Great Britain enjoyed a dominant final day at the
European Track Championships as Laura Trott, Ed
Clancy, Victoria Pendleton and
Matt Crampton all claimed gold in
Apeldoorn. Having taken a hat-trick of first places on day one, Team
GB ended the event with seven golds, providing a timely boost for the
host nation's qualification points tally for London 2012. Pendleton,
who put in a disappointing performance in Saturday's women's sprint,
was much improved in the keirin, winning each of her heats and taking
the final by a bike length.
RALLYING
Reigning champion Sebastien Loeb won the RACC Rally de
Espana to edge clear of title rival Mikko Hirvonen ahead of next
month's season finale in Wales. Frenchman Loeb, who has won all seven
championships since 2004, claimed his seventh victory on Spanish soil
ahead of Finland's Hirvonen and Jari-Matti Latvala.
ATHLETICS
Haile Gebrselassie returned to winning ways on Sunday
with a convincing victory in the BUPA Great Birmingham Run. The 38-year-old
Ethiopian dropped out of last month's BMW Berlin Marathon during the
race because of illness, but was back to form over half-marathon
distance today, winning easily in one hour, one minute and 29 seconds.

Former World Championship silver medallist Fran
Halsall won gold in the 100 metres individual medley and
