DARTS
James Wade claimed his fifth major title with a 6-3
win over Adrian Lewis in the final of the Bodog.com World Grand Prix
in Dublin on Sunday night. Wade had started the stronger and moved
into a 4-2 lead, although the action was overshadowed to an extent by
an angry confrontation between the two players after Lewis was
distracted mid-throw.
MOTOR CYCLING
Jorge Lorenzo has secured his first MotoGP title after
finishing third in the Malaysian round of the series at Sepang. The
Spaniard needed to finish ninth or better to clinch the championship
on his Fiat Yamaha, helped by the absence of his closest rival and
compatriot Dani Pedrosa due to an injury suffered in the last MotoGP
round in Japan. Reigning champion Valentino Rossi, a team-mate of
Lorenzo at Fiat Yamaha, won the race in a time of 41 minutes 03.448
seconds, with Rossi's fellow Italian Andrea Dovizioso second for
Repsol Honda. |
