CYCLING
Great Britain's cyclists know there is still work to
be done after the men's team pursuit and team sprint squads claimed
bronze medals on the opening day of the Track Cycling World
Championships in Apeldoorn, Holland. After each team qualified third
fastest on Wednesday afternoon, they emerged triumphant in their
ride-offs for third place. Steven Burke, Andy Tennant, Peter Kennaugh
and Sam Harrison, who took over from the ill Ed Clancy for the medal
ride, took bronze in the four-man, four-kilometre team pursuit as
Australia claimed gold ahead of Russia. |
