World and Olympic champions Iain Percy and Andrew Simpson extended their lead at the top of the Star fleet on another day dominated by light sea breeze conditions at the Princess Sofia Trophy in Palma.

Samuel Sanchez overpowered his rivals to take the queen stage of the Vuelta al Pais Vasco in Arrate. The Euskaltel-Euskadi rider attacked inside the final kilometre and held off a lead pack of 11 riders to take an impressive win after 179 kilometres.
