MOTOR CYCLING
Tommy Hill extended his lead in the chase for MCE
Insurance British Superbike crown with a hard-earned victory and then
a strong second place to Aussie Josh Brookes in the second round at
Thruxton. Riding the Worx Suzuki, Hill had bounced back from a heavy
tumble in free practice to claim pole at record pace, and then fought
all of the way in a four-way power struggle in the opener.
ICE HOCKEY
Great Britain maintained their 100% start to their
World Championship campaign with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over
Korea. It keeps Britain, who followed a 26-hour bus ride due to
flying restrictions because of the cloud of volcanic ash with a 4-1
success over Croatia in their Division One Group B opener, on course
for another medal having claimed bronze in Poland last year. |
