CYCLING
Belgian cyclist Wouter Weylandt, who died during
Monday's third stage of the Giro d'Italia, was set to become a father
in September. The 26-year-old Leopard Trek rider fell during a
descent 25 kilometres from the finish of the 173km stage from Reggio
Emilia to Rapallo and was unconscious with blood coming from his
mouth and nose.
HOCKEY
Great Britain's men went to the top of the table in
the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Malaysia with a 3-1 win over New
Zealand. Reading defender Richard Mantell opened the scoring with a
14th-minute penalty corner in a first half dominated by Jason Lee's side. |
