CYCLING
Peter Sagan claimed his second consecutive stage win
at the Tour of California to move into third in the overall rankings.
The Australian, riding for Liquigas, had won the fifth stage after
emerging victorious from a sprint finish and he followed that up with
another win, this time from an uphill sprint ahead of Rory Sutherland
and Michael Rogers (HTC-Columbia).
Local hero Manuel Belletti (Colnago-CSF) just held off
Team Sky's Greg Henderson in a thrilling sprint finish to stage 13 of
the Giro d'Italia. The pair were part of a 17-man breakaway group
which went clear after 62 kilometres in the 223km stage from Porto
Recanati to Cesenatico. |
