ATHLETICS
Tyson Gay proved Usain Bolt is not invincible over 100 metres by winning Friday's DN Galan meeting in 9.84seconds at the Olympic Stadium in Stockholm. The American was quicker out of the blocks and pulled clear to claim the first 100m win of his career over the Jamaican world record holder. Bolt never looked like catching his rival as he crossed the line in second in 9.97secs.
EQUESTRIAN
Great Britain's showjumpers secured a third-place finish in the 2010 Meydan FEI Nations Cup series after Friday's final leg in Dublin. Although Britain could not repeat their Hickstead heroics last week when they won a Nations Cup round for the first time since 2008, fifth spot was still good enough to secure an overall podium spot. They finished on 42.5 points following eight competitions throughout Europe, 1.5 behind runners-up the United States and 11 adrift of champions France, who successfully defended their title.
