ROWING
The British women's lightweight quad of Stephanie Cullen, Laura Greenhalgh, Andrea Dennis, Jane Hall won silver at the World Rowing Championships in Poznan, Poland on Sunday morning. The GB crew had been leading until the 1,000-metre mark but Germany's push into the second half of the race was decisive and they won by a length.
The great British tradition of a victorious men's four continued on Saturday as Alex Partridge, Alex Gregory, Ric Egington and Matthew Langridge won gold at the World Rowing Championships. GB Rowing's performance director David Tanner labelled them the "boat of the day" in Poznan, but they had significant competition for that honour.
